Get to Know...

My ideal weekend is…

Spending the morning on the golf course while the weather is warm and then spending the afternoon relaxing with family, friends, and an ice cold beverage on the patio in our backyard oasis. When the weather turns cold I like to curl up with a good book, take on a new video game, or relax fireside with family, friends, and a nice bottle of wine.

My favourite vacation was…

My honeymoon with my wife at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, DR. We spent ten glorious days on a white sand beach soaking up the sun and staying cool with a few frozen drinks. The resort was so vast there was a trolley system to get around faster. We ate at a different restaurant every night and sampled all the desserts at each. We spent a couple days off the resort to zip line through the jungle and drive dune buggies around the countryside. We also managed to squeeze in a couple days in their amazing spa.

Aside from real estate, I am extremely passionate about…

Technology. Since a young age I always wanted to know how things worked, so I took them apart and put most of them back together. I grew up around computers, as a teenager I custom built my own gaming PC and tested the limits of it. When I got my first car I installed a state of the art radio and booming sound system. I worked in theatre and as an Audio Visual Technician, these trades have taught me how the right technology can have can help tell a story or communicate a message. At home we have technology in every room of the house to automate the mundane and improve our lives. At work I look for new technologies that improve productivity and streamline the workflow.

My favourite thing to do in Niagara is…

Hit a ball around the golf course. My wife Aurora and I have played at countless courses around Niagara and try to improve our game every year. We also organize and host a growing annual family golf tournament. The Anderson Open has been tradition in Aurora’s family for nearly fifty years and was founded by her grandparents.

The accomplishment I’m most proud of is…

My wife and I bought our first home when we were 20 & 21 years old. Aurora was still fresh out of school for interior decorating and was itching to have her own space to make beautiful. We didn’t have a lot of savings, but were fortunate enough to have good jobs and we were approved for a mortgage. With the help of a Realtor we started our search for a home we could call our own. At first we didn't see anything we liked in our price range until that one fateful day we got a call from our Realtor. A home was just listed and there weren’t any photos yet but it was priced to sell so we saw it that same day. As soon as we stepped inside we knew it was the home for us! Sure it was really rough around the edges, but we weren’t afraid of a little hard work and could see the potential.  We put in our offer later that same day and even though there were two competing offers, ours had won! The rest is history and Aurora has been making our home more beautiful ever since.

Bio

Are you thinking about moving, or maybe buying your first home? Buying or selling real estate can seem stressful, or maybe even overwhelming at times. After all, a home is likely the single biggest purchase in your life. You need to take the stress out of real estate. You need to work with an agent you can trust!

Hi, I’m Cory Bachert and I am here to work for you. I help sellers actively market their property to attract the most interest and generate offers. I also help buyers find their dream home so they will enjoy many years of ownership.

Before I became Realtor I worked for over 12 years in the Hospitality Industry where I learned the skills needed to provide award winning customer service, overcome challenges and effectively manage a business. During that time I worked in various roles, from front line staff to management, honing my skills and improving along the way.

Earlier in my career I worked with the Audience Services team at the Shaw Festival Theatre for 8 years. There I developed an appreciation for stage and cultivated an interest in reading. After that I worked for 5 years with PSAV providing audiovisual services for conferences and live events.  I have always had a passion for technology and working with this company allowed me to be around it every day. Most recently I was Director of Event Technology and was responsible for sales and on-site operations at four hotel venues in Niagara Falls.

I was born and raised in St. Catharines. My wife, Aurora, and I now live in Niagara Falls with our two cats and we love where we live. In my spare time  enjoy golfing, reading, wrenching on our cars and gaming.

If you have questions or want to know how I can help you, please contact me. I look forward to speaking with you, and value the opportunity to partner with you for all your real estate needs.
