My ideal weekend is…
a Saturday morning coffee on the porch followed by a walk downtown to the St. Catharines Farmers' Market with my sweet family and our pooch for breakfast and fresh goodies, a bike ride with a picnic stop along the Parkway in Niagara on the Lake, puttering in our garden during the summer and catching the sounds of Montebello Park, cooking a delicious meal paired with a nice Niagara wine and a backyard outdoor movie night under the stars.
One day I’d like to…
take a dream rail journey with my husband on the Rocky Mountaineer through the Canadian Rockies, commencing in Banff and ending in Alaska where we hop onboard an Alaskan cruise to whale watch.
A fun fact about me is…
I was on the cover of the first Alexisonfire album as I went to school and was friends with the band. Yes, I'm one of the girls in a kilt, my Denis Morris uniform to be exact.
Aside from real estate, I am extremely passionate about…
gardening and all things horticulture, for which I proudly have a diploma from Niagara College. It has become a very cherished part of my life and a hobby my husband and I love to share and enjoy together.
My favourite thing to do in Niagara is…
discover! It feels like a new and exciting winery, restaurant, boutique shop or festival appears every time I turn around and it's such a joy to support those businesses and share that Niagara love with friends, family, and clients!
My dream home would be…
a charming brick century home filled with character and unique nooks, surrounded by a cozy wraparound porch complete with a porch swing, a vegetable and cutting flower garden, mature trees, and plenty of space for my kiddos and pooch to run, play, and explore.
The accomplishment I’m most proud of is…
my children and the wonderful humans they are growing into. I have a 6-year-old daughter named Frankie and a 10-year-old son named Jude who light up my life and remind me how lucky I am to be their Mama each and every day.
A hidden gem in Niagara is…
The Good Earth Winery & Restaurant in The Benchlands. I have a very soft spot for The Good Earth as my husband and I had our spring engagement photos taken in the peach orchard while in bloom over a decade ago and it has had my heart ever since. Always delicious food, beautiful wines (the Aria sparkling rosé is my favorite!), and the warmest vibes, the whole space is bursting with flowers, gardens, and wildlife and feels like a fairy tale no matter what the season is.
If I had a theme song it would be…
'Jamming' by Bob Marley.
My earliest memories of falling in love with houses happened as a little girl. I can remember sitting in the backseat of our family car, making our way around Niagara, listening intently as my parents commented on things they loved about certain neighbourhoods or styles of homes, often agreeing with what they had to say about the landscaping or thoughtful touches the homeowners added to create meaningful curb appeal. Those favourite neighbourhoods and details remain with me today and I find myself, knowingly or not, making a point to drive past whenever the chance presents itself, my own children in the backseat listening to me love on those very houses.
Naturally, real estate was inescapable.
The skillsets I’ve harnessed and honed in my 11-year career as a Niagara wedding and event planner have prepared me for the magical journey to being a Realtor. My focus has always been client happiness and it will continue to be moving forward. Coupled with a genuine love for the region and the beautiful connections I’ve made from lake to lake, I am so grateful to feel the comfortable transition that has been this chapter in real estate. Along with my business partner and long-time friend, Kyle Miller, we are delighted to offer our clients efficiency, organization, attention to detail, determination, and a lifelong friendship, no doubt; it’s what we know and it’s what we do.
Finding a place that feels like home at McGarr Realty was another natural choice that both Kyle and I dreamed of from early days. I wanted to feel intentional about my transition from wedding planning to real estate and like the fit was right. It only makes sense that the wedding planner ended up with the team with the pink signs. A backbone in the region, friends of some very important community non-profit organizations, and, the philosophy of being ‘quintessentially Niagara’ align so deeply within me. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for it all.
There’s a house out there ready for you to fall in love with. Maybe you already live there and you are working through the emotions that come with the bittersweet goodbye. No matter the page you’re on, it would be an honour to work together.
