Who would have thought that picking sweet grapes frozen on the vine would result in such a fine product?

Not only is Icewine sweet, smooth and delicious, it’s something Niagara is known for all over the world. The Niagara Icewine Festival is particularly special for welcoming locals and visitors to celebrate all things related to the winter harvest.

At McGarr Realty, we actually love this time of year. It’s a wonderful time for planning ahead; for inviting prospective clients to tour our lovely region in its winter garb; for bringing friends and family to visit while celebrating, and showing our appreciation to the wineries that keep visitors coming back to Niagara, year after year.

Our wineries’ unique locations in Southern Ontario allow for the production of specialty wines – and according to the experts, this year’s celebration of the winter harvest will showcase some very special vintages and events.

With a general slowdown in most business schedules following the holiday period, timing the Icewine Festival for three consecutive weekends in January (11-13, 18-20 and 25-27) allows for guests to attend multiple events, whether with a Discovery Pass or by purchasing individual tickets (some events are free to attend, with tokens to purchase in exchange for wine samples).

From themed galas to tasting events, to special, annual events like the Twenty Valley’s Barrel Rolling Competition, visitors will experience fantastic Icewine with specialty food pairings; wonderful local entertainment; unique, ice-themed events (think hockey, ice sculptures and cocktails), and the fun and satisfaction that come from celebrating our very own region.

If you, like so many Niagara families, are hosting visitors this January, look no further for something to do than the Niagara Icewine Festival and its three exciting weekends, celebrated in multiple locations around the region.

The Niagara Icewine Festival is one event we should all attend, because the product we are celebrating is one of the things that makes our region unique.

It’s awesome when the place where you live stands out from the crowd so well!

At McGarr Realty, we want to be just like Niagara.
