We love living in Niagara.

Our team of real estate experts at McGarr Realty is proud to call Niagara home, and we know how much Niagara is attractive to other regions, for countless reasons.

Those include: our region’s beauty, the temperate climate, the Niagara real estate market (those prices!), our highways, proximity to the border, our competent government, and so much more.

But let’s go back to the Niagara real estate market, and do a little comparison to other regions in Ontario.

Every month, the Niagara Association of Realtors releases figures for the previous month, showing average price received and number of days on the market for each sale in comparison to figures from the previous year.

While it appears the overall Canadian market has cooled slightly, with sales taking more days and prices levelling off, it is worth mentioning that home prices still remain lower in Niagara than those of nearby regions, like Hamilton-Burlington, Oakville and the Greater Toronto Area.

Average residential sale prices for April, 2018 were measured at:

* $417,121 in Niagara;

* $555,661 in Hamilton-Burlington;

* $996,750 in Oakville, and

* $804,584 in the GTA.

Niagara’s economy is bustling too: Niagara Region promotes economic development of all 12 municipalities on a global scale, encouraging investment; Niagara as a travel destination; relocation of industry and educational post-secondary programs that support our economy.

There are really, really nice homes in Niagara, just waiting for smart real estate shoppers and nice families to join our communities.

Another thing we love about Niagara: We embody the Canadian model! Niagara is made up of families and communities celebrating cultures from all over the world!

We are diverse, welcoming and proud of our heritages. We share our traditions through festivals and events that celebrate our backgrounds, but at the end of the day, the flag we proudly stand beneath?

It’s the Maple Leaf, and the sound of our voices raised in song is one of the sweetest things you’ll ever hear.

On July 1, get ready to wave the flag and sing your heart out with Niagara! Canada Day celebrations will take place at parks, at fairgrounds, on main streets and in the hearts of all 12 communities.

Check each community’s website for details, and plan on spending the whole day to enjoy great food, camaraderie, fun and games, special fireworks and more!

Are you ready to come home to Niagara? There’s a little piece of Canada right here, just waiting to welcome you!
